Fishburne Military School postgrad basketball star Donte Morales has signed with UNC-Wilmington, becoming the first recruit for new coach Buzz Peterson.
“We’re very excited about having Donte join our basketball family,” Peterson said. “He’s a wonderful young man whose best basketball is ahead of him. He’s a serious student with a maturity level beyond his years. His leadership skills, both on and off the court, should be an asset to our program.”
Morales averaged 16.0 points per game for the postgrad team at Fishburne, which finished its inaugural season with a 20-6 record.
Morales, a Virginia Beach native and Landstown High alum, scored 30 or more points four times in the 2009-2010 season.
