Spanberger for Governor announced today that the campaign has raised more than $3.45 million so far in 2024, totaling more than $7 million since its launch in November 2023.
Abigail Spanberger’s campaign reported more than $3.45 million raised in the first Virginia filing period of 2024. The campaign’s $7 million raised to date is the highest fundraising total of any Virginia statewide candidate at this point in the election cycle.
Spanberger’s campaign is powered by a grassroots coalition across Virginia:
-
90 percent of donors gave $100 or less.
-
72 percent of all contributions were from Virginians.
-
Nearly 25,000 contributions were $100 or less.
-
The average grassroots donation was $29.
“These numbers represent enthusiasm. Virginians across the Commonwealth are sending a clear message — they’re ready for Abigail Spanberger to serve as the next Governor of Virginia,” said Samson Signori, Campaign Manager of Spanberger for Governor. “Virginians know that Abigail will get things done on the issues that matter most — from protecting our fundamental freedoms to investing in Virginia’s schools. Abigail and her campaign are incredibly grateful for the dedicated grassroots supporters who’ve already donated their time, energy, and resources — and our early momentum on the ground will only continue to grow.”
Spanberger has built a broad coalition of support across the Commonwealth with more than 125 current and former Virginia elected officials endorsing her campaign. She has also been endorsed by Emily’s List, VoteVets, Brady PAC, Clean Virginia, End Citizens United // Let America Vote, and GIFFORDS.
Spanberger is serving her third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. In Congress, she serves on the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. Before Congress, Spanberger served as a federal law enforcement officer — tracking narcotics traffickers and working money laundering cases — and as a CIA case officer — working undercover on counterterrorism and nuclear counterproliferation cases. She and her husband, Adam, are the proud parents of three school-aged daughters.
Spanberger announced her campaign to serve as the 75th Governor of Virginia in November 2023.
