One of the Shenandoah Valley’s largest summer events will mark its 17th year on July 20 and 21. The Daylily Festival will feature local foods and wines, craft beers, arts and crafts, live music and children’s activities on the grounds of the Andre Viette Farm & Nursery.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 20 and from noon to 5 p.m. on July 21and is sponsored in part by Virginia Farm Bureau Federation. Participants will be able to sample products from 20 Virginia wineries. Children will be able to try milking a mechanical cow, see and feel different types of grain and color pictures of their trip to the farm.
The event will benefit Virginia’s Agriculture in the Classroom program, which works to help educators enlighten children statewide about how agriculture touches their lives.
