Chesterfield County: Midlothian man dead in single-vehicle crash on Route 288

At 1:41 a.m. on Thursday (Sept. 8), Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on northbound Route 288 just north of Route 10 in Chesterfield County.

A 2007 Nissan Altima was traveling north on Route 288 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The driver, Christopher L. Allen, 51, of Midlothian, died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
