Caissons get first win, 35-19

Mike Poillon threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Fishburne Mlitary School to a 35-19 win over Quantico on Friday.

Quantico got on the board first on a 65-yard pass from Alec Furiak to Jaylen Street on the third play from scrimmage to take a 7-0 lead at the 10:33 mark of the first quarter.

FMS responded with a 7-yard run on a keeper by Poillon that pulled the Caissons to within 7-6 with 3:39 left in the first.

After a Quantico fumble inside the Fishburne 10, Poillon connected with Jett Saunders on a pass in the left flat that Saunders turned into a 93-yard touchdown, giving the Caissons a 12-7 lead with 10:33 to go in the second quarter.

An Alex Namdar 24-yard field goal made it 15-7 at the 3:08 mark of the second quarter. The final two minutes of the first half featured scores by aech team. Fishburne extended its lead to 22-7 with 1:22 to go on a 23-yard pass from Poillon to Saunders on a third-and-goal play that followed a penalty and sack. Quantico responded on a 72-yard pass play from Furiak to John Tagliabue that made it 22-13 FMS at the half.

Fishburne put the game away with a 21-yard touchdown run by Todd James at the 1:33 mark of the third quarter and a 19-yard TD run by Poillon at the 6:53 mark of the fourth that put the score at 35-13 Fishburne.

Furiak and Street connected on another 65-yard pass play with 2:22 left in the game for the final scoring of the afternoon.
