It was a wild Saturday in the ACC on the final day of the 2025 regular season, which came down to a two-run rally in the bottom of the eighth that put the ‘Noles up a run on UNC, which had come into the day atop the ACC standings.
Georgia Tech finished out the regular season with a 19-11 conference record.
There were seven teams, all told, within two games of first place at the end of the day.
That group includes the UVA Baseball team, which finished 16-11 in conference play – winning 10 of its last 12 after a 6-9 start in the ACC to finish a game and a half out of first.
That finish gives the ‘Hoos the six seed in this week’s ACC Tournament, which will play out as a single-elimination tournament like our basketball tournament in March.
As the six seed, Virginia gets a bye into the second round, where the Cavaliers will face the winner of #11 Notre Dame (32-20, 14-16 ACC) vs. #14 Boston College (26-28, 11-19 ACC) game on Wednesday.
The ND-BC game is set for a 9 p.m. ET Tuesday first pitch.
The UVA game on Wednesday is set for a 9 p.m. ET first pitch.
The games will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
The other games on Tuesday include a 9 a.m. ET opening game with No. 9 seed Miami (31-23, 15-14 ACC) taking on No. 16 seed Cal (22-30, 9-21 ACC), No. 12 Virginia Tech (30-24, 12-18 ACC) battling No. 13 Stanford (27-24, 11-19 ACC) at 1 p.m. ET, followed by No. 10 Louisville (35-20, 15-15 ACC) against No. 15 Pitt (27-26, 10-20 ACC) at 5 p.m. ET.
Georgia Tech (39-16, 19-11 ACC), Florida State (37-13, 17-10 ACC), North Carolina (39-12, 18-11 ACC) and NC State (33-18, 17-11 ACC) all earned double-byes into Thursday’s quarterfinals.
Clemson (41-15, 18-12 ACC) is the five seed, followed by Virginia (32-17, 16-11 ACC), Duke (36-18, 17-13 ACC) and Wake Forest (36-19, 16-14 ACC), all of whom earned byes into Wednesday’s second round.
