kendrick lamarr roseThe Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Stuarts Draft man in a vicious attack on his ex-girlfriend last Thursday night at his grandmother’s home.

Kendrick Lamarr Rose, 22 years old, faces two charges from the assault of the 19 year old victim, who is also the mother of his two children.

On January 7 at approximately 10:45 p.m., an officer responded to the Emergency Department at Augusta Health to meet with the victim who had been taken there by a family member.  She told the officer that she went to Rose’s grandmother’s house in the 1100 block of South Delphine Avenue to pick up their two children whom the grandmother was babysitting.

When she arrived at the house, she was met by Rose who grabbed her phone from her hand and smashed it on the ground.  He then grabbed her by the hair and threw her in the bushes. When she tried to get up, he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her in the house.  He repeatedly punched her in the ribs as he pinned her to the floor.  The assault was witnessed by the children and Rose’s mother and grandmother, who tried to intervene but were pushed away by Rose.

The victim tried numerous times to get away, but Rose, who stands 6’2” and is 225 pounds, either held down the 5’2”, 110 pound victim or blocked the exit.  Finally, other family members of Rose came to the residence and the victim was able leave and get to the hospital.

The officer obtained warrants for Abduction (f) and Assault & Battery on a Family Member (m).

Rose surrendered himself at the Police Department on January 11.  He is being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
