Augusta County Fire and Rescue is hosting a workshop to give homeowners that live in wooded areas of the County an opportunity to learn how to protect their homes from wildfires.
Representatives from Augusta County Fire and Rescue, the Virginia Department of Forestry, the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Park Service will cover a wide variety of topics in the workshop including, wildfire mitigation tips to protect homes and property, techniques to make woodland properties more accessible for emergency responders, and family wildfire preparedness. Workshop participants will be given a free, informational toolkit loaded with helpful tips and practices.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Augusta County Library in Fishersville.
