Albemarle County: One dead after fiery crash on Colston Drive Sunday night

One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in the 3600 block of Colston Drive in Albemarle County on Sunday night.

The Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the crash at approximately 8:12 p.m.

Upon arrival, responders located a vehicle in a wooded area fully engulfed in fire. Once the fire was extinguished, one body was recovered from the scene.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department’s crash reconstruction team.
