Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a fire on the 2800 block of Seminole Trail in Charlottesville on Wednesday.

The first fire suppression apparatus arrived on scene at approximately 12:23 p.m. to discover smoke showing from the second floor and attic of a vacant residence.

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported from this incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Safety tip

Albemarle County Fire Rescue would like to take this time to remind the community that during inclement weather, keeping your driveway clear of snow and ice and ensuring access to any nearby fire hydrants can be imperative for first responders.

When shoveling snow this winter, remember to clear a three-foot radius around fire hydrants so firefighters can quickly hook up hoses to protect people and property.
