Albemarle County announces video-streaming of Board of Supervisors meetings

Contributors

albemarleAlbemarle County has announced that residents are now able to watch live and archived Board of Supervisor meetings on their computer or mobile device.

This new video-streaming system dovetails with the new agenda management system and legislation tracking tool the county introduced in May. Combined, these new systems provide simplified tracking of legislation from inception through approvals and actions taken.

Additionally, with video-streaming, the county is now able to connect videos directly to agenda items.

With this new system, Albemarle County offers citizens an improved view into what’s happening in their community, as well as access to the meetings in a mobile capacity. Citizens will have access to fully searchable meeting content, including legislative decisions and public meeting videos.

To watch live or archived Board meetings, beginning with the Sept. 23rd Board meeting, visit albemarle.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.

“Introducing live video streaming and archived videos is an important step in providing readily accessible information to our residents,” said County Executive Tom Foley. “We’re excited about this new opportunity for meaningful community engagement.”
