Generals enjoy support from local Chick-fil-A

Jay Hawkins, the owner of the Chick-fil-A in Waynesboro, gave up the privilege of throwing Friday night’s first pitch at the Waynesboro Generals game in favor of letting the famed Chick-fil-A cow have the honor, giving the game a comical start.

Despite the heat, Hawkins made sure to tell us it was a very “celebrity” position for an employee to be deployed in the cow suit. As the “face of the company,” he felt it was important for the cow to come out for Chick-fil-A Night at the ballpark and get people’s attention in order to raise awareness for the local restaurant’s two-year anniversary this week.

The local Chick-fil-A has been supporting the Generals since its doors opened in 2010 and is sure to continue doing so in the years to come, Hawkins said. This coming Thursday, July 12, Chick-fil-A will be hosting a meal for the Waynesboro Generals and their fans from 2-3 p.m. The event is an ideal time for fans to come meet the players and enjoy a meal at their local Chick-fil-A.

Come out this Thursday and support the Waynesboro Generals and a local business that legitimately cares about bridging the gap between business and community.
