Generals Store open downtown

Chris Graham

The view from my desk is now of Mad Anthony Wayne. That’s because we’ve opened a new Waynesboro Generals Store here at the Augusta Free Press Publishing office at 539 W. Main St. in Downtown Waynesboro.
The mural of Gen. Wayne is the only thing not for sale, but you can check out the selection of hats, T-shirts, pens, window clings and Valley League and University of Virginia logo baseballs.

You can also get your official Valley League blanket featuring logos of all 12 league teams.

(I’m such a shill these days.)

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment.

And don’t forget, the first Play Ball of the season is a week away, Wednesday, June 3, at 7 p.m., with an exhibition game against the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks of the Rockingham County Baseball League at Kate Collins Field.

The teams will be on hand at 4:30 p.m. on June 3 for a Meet the Teams event where fans get the chance to mingle with players and get autographs.

The Valley League opener is Friday, June 5, at 7 p.m. against the Rockbridge Rapids.
