Comedy and music highlight December Radio Hour

river-city-radio-hour4A host of the River City Radio Hour’s celebrities return to WTA’s Gateway stage for the December Radio Hour on Friday, December 21 at 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro.  Mary Margaret McBride (aka Barbara Lawson) appears as the Radio Hour’s Guest of the Year.  With her splendid voice and histronics, Ms. McBride brings an overload of joy to the season.

Also gracing the Radio Hour will be George Shifflet and The Hens of Renown.  The astounding clucking trio has been lured back to show business by their wilely manager who hopes to rekindle their career by joining them with another of the Radio favorites, Mr. Ed.

Chapter Four of A. Love Diary by Bob Crawford finds the Christmas holidays closing in on Angel and the rest of the Back Porch team.  A surprise visitor appears and Angel’s future is in question.  “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” has new meaning for Angel and her career.

The Boogie Kings, Richard Adams, William Hayes and J. T  Fauber, and Waynesboro First Lady of Laughter, Marsha Howard, round out the one-hour performances.

Advanced tickets are $10 and may be purchased by calling the box office (540-943-9999).  Tickets are also available at the box office on the night of performance for $12.  Performances are at 6:30pm and 8:00pm.
