Virginia exploded for three goals in a five-minute stretch in the second half to finish off a 4-0 win over Syracuse on Saturday night.

The early 1-0 for UVA (6-2-2, 2-2-0 ACC) came in the ninth minute with a header from Gio Canali off a corner kick from Ella Carter.

The next goal wouldn’t come until the 80th minute. Addison Halpern picked off a pass near midfield and took off in transition. Aniyah Collier ran with her out wide on the left, and Halpern slipped the ball ahead to her. Collier picked up the ball in stride and struck from the corner of the six for the 2-0 lead.

The ‘Hoos would add two more goals in the span of less than two minutes with a left-footed strike from Jordyn Hardeman in the 84th minute and a penalty kick from Hardeman following a Syracuse hand ball in the 85th minute.
