An inmate at the Greensville Correctional Center was on the lam for a few hours Friday afternoon before being taken back into custody around 5 p.m.

Jeremy Paul Bushey, 27, of Fredericksburg, walked off farm property at Greensville Correctional Complex at approximately 1:15 p.m. while working outside the perimeter fencing at the prison, according to Virginia Department of Corrections officials.

Bushey is serving a 31-month sentence at Deerfield Men’s Work Center #2 for burglary, grand larceny and shoplifting.

Let’s assume he gets an upgrade in the time to be served, and new conditions for how he serves it.

Bushey was taken into custody at approximately 5 p.m. Friday not far from VADOC property.
