UVA Baseball: O’Ferrall, Anderson promoted by O’s to High-A Aberdeen

Two of the newer members of the Baltimore Orioles organization, former UVA Baseball stars Griff O’Ferrall and Ethan Anderson, were promoted this week to High-A Aberdeen.

O’Ferrall a first-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, played in 15 games at Low-A Delmarva in the Carolina League, hitting .232/.348/.268 in 65 plate appearances, with two doubles and eight RBIs.

Anderson, a second-round pick in the 2024 draft, also played in 15 games at Delmarva, hitting .268/.333/.446 in 62 plate appearances, with a homer among his six extra-base hits and 11 RBIs.

Both debuted at High-A on Tuesday in a 6-5 Aberdeen win over the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

O’Ferrall was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the win; Anderson was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run scored for the IronBirds.
