On the strength of last Wednesday’s 90-67 romp over then-No. 1 Randolph-Macon, the Eastern Mennonite men’s basketball team jumped 11 spots this week to No. 7 in the D3hoops.com national poll.

In just their third week in the nation’s top 25, the Runnin Royals skipped up from No. 18 to No. 7. EMU is now 13-1 overall and leads the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a perfect 7-0 mark.

The Yellow Jackets slipped from the top spot to No. 3 in this week’s poll. Guilford College moved up from No. 6 to No. 2 after avenging its only loss in Saturday’s win over Virginia Wesleyan. The Marlins, the ODAC’s fourth team in the top 25, slipped four spots to No. 12.

UW-Stevens Point took over the No. 1 ranking from Randolph-Macon this week, garnering all 25 first-place votes. After Guilford and the Yellow Jackets are Washington University, Williams and UW-Whitewater.

Eastern Mennonite is one of the top offensive teams in the country, averaging 90.7 points a game. They are also among national leaders in turnover ratio at +8.21.

The Runnin Royals play Emory & Henry Wednesday night in Yoder Arena before taking on rival Bridgewater College Saturday night in Bridgewater.
