Tech picked to win ACC, UVa. slotted fifth in Coastal

The media attending the 2009 ACC Football Kickoff have Virginia Tech winning the ACC championship, UVa. finishing fifth in the six-team Coastal and Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Virginia quarterback Vic Hall competing for conference player-of-the-year honors.

Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer led the voting for preseason player of the year. Clemson running back C.J. Spiller was second.

The writers tabbed Florida State as the winner of the Atlantic Division.

Sixty-nine of the 87 writers had Virginia Tech winning the ACC Championship Game.
