Top Virginia Democrats line up behind Hillary Clinton presidential campaign

Chris Graham

hillary3The Hillary Clinton presidential campaign announced on Monday the launch of its Hillary for Virginia Leadership Council – a group of over 30 of the top Virginia elected officials, community, coalition and grassroots leaders who will help build a grassroots-driven volunteer team in advance of the Virginia Democratic presidential primary on March 1.

The Leadership Council will serve as the in-state leadership for the campaign, amplifying the campaign’s national voice to Virginia families, aiding the campaign with rapid response, organization building, grassroots organizing, recruiting volunteer leaders, and identifying leaders for Get Out The Vote activities.

“Virginians are ready to work to elect a president in Hillary Clinton that will fight every day to make the economy work for everyone, not just those at the top and I’m looking forward to helping lead her efforts here,” said Governor Terry McAuliffe. “Hillary has laid out an agenda for strong growth, fair growth, and long term growth and her strong record of leadership has proven that she’s the right person to lead our country and get things done.”

“Hillary Clinton is the fighter Virginians need to ensure access to affordable and quality health care, college affordability, and economic prosperity for all,” said State. Del. Jennifer McCllelan. “Hillary is committed to fighting for every vote in the Virginia primary, and I’m honored to be on her team to help her do so.”

“Hillary Clinton’s unparalleled experience as a champion for children and families, record of finding common ground,  and vision for a stronger, more prosperous, and more inclusive America makes her the partner we need in Washington and Virginians need in the White House,” said Sen. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner in a joint statement.  “We’re ready to help lead her team in the Commonwealth and bring more Virginians into her campaign.”
