UVA basketball adds four-star recruit DeAndre Hunter

Chris Graham

uva-basketballFour-star small forward DeAndre Hunter has verbally committed to UVA, adding another Top 100 recruit to coach Tony Bennett’s stellar Class of 2016.

Hunter, a 6’7”, 195-pounder, is a scorer and slasher from Pennsylvania whose stock rose in the summer.

Hunter had offers from Maryland, Georgetown, Villanova and Notre Dame, among many others.

Hunter joins the incoming class in 2016 that includes guards Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy and power forward Jay Huff.

Virginia will also add Memphis recruit Austin Nichols, a former Top 25 recruit, and Mamadi Diakite, a five-star power forward who reclassified to the Class of 2015, enrolled at UVA last month and plans to redshirt in 2015-2016.
