Route 629 in Shenandoah County reopens after sinkhole repair

road work transportationRoute 629 (Oranda Road) is back open to traffic in Shenandoah County following sinkhole repairs. The roadway had been closed since Wednesday evening between Route 660 (Timberlake Road) and Route 622 (Clary Road).

Contractors for the Virginia Department of Transportation have repaired the sinkhole and the damaged portion of Route 629. The detours for passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles were lifted about 7 p.m. Friday.
