How to write a research paper

Start working on first draft

You have successfully created the outline and you can finally start working on the first draft. Basically, you just have to use the outline to structure the sentences and add more life and details into the paper so readers understand the point you’re trying to prove. When writing first draft it’s not uncommon to think of new things to include; this requires more research along the way. Always bear in mind it’s just a first draft and you’re still building a foundation to construct your work.



Upon the completion of your first draft you just have to finalize your hard work. Start by reading the paper thoroughly, adding more info if needed, check for typos and grammatical errors. Finish by adding sources you used and doing final adjustments. Feel free to read your work as many times as you feel is necessary and submit when you’re 100% sure the paper meets all requirements set by your professor or client.
