Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library announces crowdfunding campaign for digitization project.
The campaign can be found on IndieGogo.
This multi-phase project seeks to preserve the documents of Woodrow Wilson – a man considered by many to be one of the most influential and successful presidents in United States history. Woodrow Wilson’s achievements and leadership qualities have been well documented and noted for generations through the original The Papers of Woodrow Wilson, edited by Arthur S. Link and originally published by Princeton University Press, compiled in the mid-1970’s and consisting of a total of 38,400 documents contained on 39,936 pages and representing 10% of Wilson’s works.
Documents range from personal correspondence with his wife and daughters to official Presidential papers. Founded in 2004, the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library Foundation (WWPL) seeks to preserve this president’s collections and materials by embarking on a digitization project, The Woodrow Wilson Project, which would gather these documents in one place, memorialize them and make them accessible to all who wish to have access to them.
Using Indiegogo, The WWPL asks for the support of all history lovers, researchers, and preservation enthusiasts to successfully fund their $14,000.00 crowdfunding campaign. The crowdfunding campaign runs October 1 through 31, 2015 and will be used to finalize the funding and circulate word about this historic project.
