A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia with a possibly historic snowstorm headed our way on Friday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy snow and wind to begin Friday morning and continue through late Saturday night.
Accumulations of a foot or more are possible, with sustained winds at 10-15 mph and gusts of up to 30 mph.
The Weather.com and WeatherUnderground forecasts for Waynesboro the potential for more than two feet of snow. The AccuWeather.com has the forecast a little more modest, in the 12- to 18-inch range.
Either way, we seem to be in line for our biggest snowstorm since the Snowmageddon event of February 2010
