The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Augusta County and much of the Shenandoah Valley for Wednesday with a forecast for five inches or more of snow possible.
The snow is expected to begin Wednesday morning and continue into the afternoon hours with temperatures around freezing most of the day. Winds will also be an issue during the weather event, with sustained winds at 10-15 mph with gusts to 20 mph forecast.
High temperatures are expected to be around 40 degrees on Thursday and Friday before warming into the 50s by the weekend, so whatever falls on Wednesday may not be around for long.
