The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Augusta County and points north in the Shenandoah Valley that will go into effect at 6 a.m. Saturday with a forecast for 5-10 inches of snow Saturday into the early-morning hours Sunday.
Precipitation is expected to begin as snow early Saturday before changing over to freezing rain Saturday evening.
Temperatures will slowly rise from the teens early in the day to get to near freezing by Saturday night.
Forecast highs for Sunday have temperatures topping out near 50 degrees.
