wm-logoWith 17 starters returning from last season’s squad that posted three wins against top-20 teams and narrowly missed earning a NCAA Playoff berth, the William and Mary football team garnered a No. 22 national ranking in the preseason Coaches Poll.

The recognition adds to W&M’s list of preseason national rankings, as it is tabbed No. 12 by Lindy’s, No. 15 by Athlon and No. 23 by Sporting News.

Among the College’s returning starters are six players who earned preseason all-conference honors earlier this summer. Senior All-American defensive tackle Mike Reilly highlighted those standouts and was chosen as the league’s preseason defensive player of the year. Joining him on the preseason All-CAA team were senior Tre McBride, who garnered distinction as both a wide receiver and a return specialist, senior linebacker Airek Green, junior linebacker Luke Rhodes, junior cornerback DeAndre Houston-Carson and junior center Andrew Jones.

The Tribe will open the 2014 campaign when it kicks off its 12-game slate at Virginia Tech on Aug. 30. For season ticket information, please click here or call the Tribe Ticket Office at 757-221-3340.
