CBD is being touted by experts in the natural health and wellness industry as the best thing to have ever happened. They say that this compound, which is extracted from the cannabis plant, can cure a wide array of conditions and illnesses but does not cause any of the mind-altering effects known to cannabis. Among some of the conditions CBD can manage include chronic pain, anxiety and depression, cancer-related symptoms, acne, and epilepsy. Also, CBD can have anti-tumor, antipsychotic as well as other neurological effects on man.

The Truth About CBD Side Effects

With such an amazing wealth of benefits, you may wonder what the downside to this compound is. Surely, a compound that can treat this many illnesses/diseases must have certain side effects. Well, if you do your research, you will find out that almost all CBD experts say that it does not have any side effects.

However, the truth of the matter is that, CBD as a compound is safe and generally well tolerated by many people. Several studies have shown that CBD administered in humans, across several concentrations and doses, does not produce any noticeable side effects. The studies also report that when taken in whatever form, CBD will not interfere with physiological or neurological parameters such as heart rate, blood pressure, mental alertness, and so on.

Nonetheless, a tiny fraction of people who use or will use this compound in combination with other medications will experience some adverse effects. Such adverse effects can range from bleeding to sedation. Therefore, before you start taking CBD in any form, it is important you consult your doctor first. Some other precautions you should take before and while taking CBD are highlighted below.

  • Although there currently is no research on CBD and pregnancy, experts do not recommend it to pregnant women. However, if you must use CBD for depression, aches, or anxiety while pregnant, be sure to speak to your doctor before doing so.
  • People who suffer from anorexia may be prescribed CBD to help improve their appetite. This means that CBD will make such a person to eat more than they usually do, which can lead to weight gain. Therefore, it is important that such people monitor their food intake and avoid eating the wrong foods, to prevent obesity.
  • When purchasing a CBD product, especially CBD oil, be sure it is free of other components or chemicals, which can have adverse effects on the body. Some CBD products on the market are reported to contain a harmful chemical typically found in illegal synthetic marijuana. Such a compound is known to cause organ damage and even death, so be sure to only purchase CBD from reputable manufacturers, such as the CBD Honey Sticks found here.

Conclusion

In humans, CBD is generally well tolerated and produces no noticeable adverse effects. However, bad drug interaction may occur, which can cause harmful side effects when it is consumed with other medication. To prevent this, it is therefore vital to avoid using CBD with other medications, and if you must, make sure you consult your doctor.
