Lambert, Frank Raymond Jr 2An officer with the Waynesboro Police Department found a wanted man overnight.  During the course of the arrest, the officer was accidentally stuck with a syringe when he searched the arrestee.

Officers had been looking for Frank Raymond Lambert Jr., 50 years old, since September 22 on a single felony count of possession of methamphetamine.  On September 27 at approximately 3:00 a.m., an officers spotted Lambert behind Speedy’s Food Mart, 1705 North Delphine Avenue.  Lambert surrendered but during the search of his property and person, the arresting officer got stuck in the hand with an uncapped syringe that Lambert had in his backpack.

The officer was wearing gloves but the needle was able to penetrate them.  Lambert had several syringes in his possession. Police assume the syringes were being used for intravenous drug use by Lambert.  The officer sought medical attention at Augusta Health Emergency Department.
