Warren, Timothy WayneThe Waynesboro Police Department has arrested an Augusta County man  after an incident at a local grocery store where he made lewd gestures to a female teenager.   Timothy Wayne Warren, 49 years old, faces one misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure, which took place on Monday afternoon at Kroger, 109 Lew Dewitt Boulevard.

On August 10 at approximately 4:15 PM, an officer responded to the store for a report of a man following a sixteen year old girl through the store and taking cellphone pictures of her.   By the time the officer arrived, Warren had left.  The officer spoke with the store manager, the victim and her mother.  According to the victim, she noticed Warren leering at her in one of the aisles.  A few minutes later, she noticed him again in another part of the store and this time he had his phone out apparently snapping pictures of her.  After telling her mother of Warren’s behavior, they both saw Warren a third time following and taking cellphone pictures of them.

After the third encounter, they notified the store manager who called for police.  By this point, Warren was purchasing his groceries at a register when he made an obscene gesture with his face at the teenage victim.  He then left the store.  The store manager was able to get a license plate of Warren’s vehicle and gave it to the officer.  Through the license plate, the officer located Warren at his residence and interviewed him.

The officer charged Warren with indecent exposure.  He surrendered himself at the Police Department that evening.  He was released on bond.
