Johnson, William HartThe Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a Waynesboro man for several residential burglaries and thefts including one that took place over a year ago.

William Hart Johnson, 43, is facing six felonies, three for burglary and three for grand larceny, after an officer spotted some of the stolen property at Johnson’s home on Winchester Road over the weekend.  The officer then obtained a search warrant for the residence and a large portion of the stolen property was recovered.

The first break-in happened in May 2013 when an all-terrain vehicle valued at $3000 was taken from one city residence.  Additional break-ins happened in May and June of this year to another residence where thousands of dollars of tools and electronics were stolen.  Both residences are located on the city’s east side near fairfax hall.

On June 17, officers arrested Johnson at his residence .
