Waynesboro First Aid Crew provides lunch to Vector Industries

The annual Christmas lunch prepared and provided by the Waynesboro First Aid Crew Ladies Auxiliary is a special day for the employees at Vector Industries.

It’s also a special day for the Auxiliary.

“Everybody pitches in,” said Norma Lee Braden, an Auxiliary member for 28 years, meaning she has been on hand for all 28 of the Christmas lunches for Vector at the First Aid Crew building,.

And everybody at Vector, which employs and trains persons with diverse disabilities to enable them to reach their potential as productive community members, looks forward to the big day. For employees and staff, the event serves as the occasion for year-end awards.

“They also look forward to the mac-and-cheese. Everybody loves the mac-and-cheese,” said Braden.

More than 90 Vector employees on staff were on hand for the lunch. More than half were honored for perfect attendance in the month of November. The company also honored employees for years of service to the company, with four marking their 25th year at Vector, and one, Ingold Hahn, finishing his 45th year.

“Since we just celebrated our 45th anniversary this year, that means Ingold has been here from day one,” said Vector CEO Chrissy Johnston.
