WTA Board members Sara Howlett and Su Ferguson are happy to report that the postponed Epicurean Delight will be enjoyed by WTA’s guests on Sunday, July 20 at 6:30 at the Waynesboro Country Club. The event is the newest twist on WTA’s very popular Progressive Dinner. Like that event, the Epicurean Delight will feature a menu created by professional chefs who will use their considerable skills and experiences to fashion an evening of outstanding cuisine.
The evening will be graced with decorations by Bonnie Weber and her committee. Brenda Vann of Simple Elegance will open the gastronomic treat with appetizers and beverages which include a signature drink being prepared by Square One Vodka. The dinner menu will be designed by noted chefs Hadley Katzenbach, Ken Harnad and Mark Moser, along with the Country Club’s new resident chef. Between courses, the strains of the Club’s piano will provide a background while guests enjoy the evening. The evening finishes with a special seasonal dessert. The dinner includes wines appropriate to each course.
Only a few places remain for the July 20 event. The last day for reservation is Monday, July 14. The cost of the Epicurean Delight is $100 per person. Reservations may be made by calling the Wayne Theatre at 540-943-9999.
The income from the event supports the operation of the Wayne Theatre Alliance as it moves forward with its reconstruction of the historic Wayne Theatre. A portion of the cost is tax deductible.
The Alliance continues to raise money and to fulfill the requirements for the $3M+ in tax credits that will complete the work on the Wayne Theatre. The organization expects to restart work on the Wayne this summer and to open the new Wayne Theatre in 2015. The reopened structure will include a 385 seat main theatre, the Custin Cabaret, and the yet-to-be named lecture space and balcony reception room. “Our goal is to give Waynesboro and the region a first-class facility that will allow for a multitude of activities,” said Bill Hausrath, Chair of WTA’s Board of Directors. “The project is taking a bit longer than we intended, but we are confident it will be brought to a successful conclusion, one that all will be proud to claim.”
