Williams (6-1, 237) was originally drafted by the houston texans in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was placed on the Texans’ Reserve/Injured list prior to the beginning of the 2013 regular season. He was waived by the Texans on Aug. 1, 2014, before being claimed by the Arizona Cardinals a day later. After being waived by the Cardinals, he spent nine weeks this season on the practice squad of the indianapolis colts.

Williams, 23, played collegiately at Connecticut, where he appeared in 50 games with 30 starts, finishing with a school-record 30.5 sacks. During his senior season, he was a first-team All-Big East Conference selection after leading his team in sacks for the second consecutive season with 11.5. As a junior, Williams ranked second in the nation in sacks with a career-high 12.5.

Williams attended Bridgeport (Conn.) Central H.S., where he was named an all-state selection as a senior in 2007. He was born on Dec. 31, 1990.
