Trea Turner had three hits and three RBIs, and Max Scherzer was his usual dominant self in a 6-4 Washington Nationals win over the Atlanta Braves on Monday.
Scherzer (16-7, 2.88 ERA, 0.92 WHIP) gave up two runs on seven hits in seven innings, striking out five and walking two.
Turner (.343/.362/.539, 6 HR, 25 RBI) homered to key a five-run third for Washington (80-57), which is eight and a half games up on the New York Mets in the NL East, and has a magic number to clinch the division title of 17.
