Virginia Writers Club Symposium: ‘Navigating Your Writing Life’

Calendar 2013The Virginia Writers Club announces Navigating Your Writing Life, A Symposium for Writers on the Journey to Publication. New York Times best-selling author Kathleen Grissom is the keynote speaker. Grissom is author of the 18th century Virginia story The Kitchen House. The symposium will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at The Dickinson Fine & Performing Arts Center at Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville.

This year’s symposium features sessions on publishing modes, websites, blogs, and social media. The program also includes presentations on the poetry market, e-books, nonfiction, young adult fiction, publishing scams, and writing contests.

The registration deadline is July 26. Fees are $75 for Virginia Writers Club members, $85 for non-members, $60 for college/university students/teachers, and $40 for teens. Participants may register online at register@VirginiaWritersClub.com. The public may register for just the keynote speaker for $10 on-line or at the door. For more information, please contact Sara M.
