The Virginia State Police is seeking the public’s help with identifying two males wanted for heavy equipment thefts in Augusta County and, possibly, Maryland.

The Virginia State Police is investigating the theft of several pieces of heavy-duty equipment from a dealer located in Stuarts Draft, Va. The two skid steers and front-end loader tractor were stolen the evening of Dec. 28, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m. A white Ford pickup truck and a Dodge pickup truck (both towing heavy-duty trailers) were used to steal the equipment.

The Dodge pickup truck became disabled on the side of Interstate 81 at around 11 p.m. near Strasburg, Va. on Dec. 28. It is believed the Ford truck picked up the driver of the Dodge and they continued north on I-81.

Further investigation led state police to a gas station in New Market, Va., where that same night the two male suspects gassed up the white Ford pickup truck. Attached are surveillance video images of the two male suspects. The Ford pickup truck has a Virginia license plate of TX296346.

The Virginia State Police is conducting the investigation in connection with Maryland State Police for a similar theft investigation ongoing in that state.

Anyone with information about these two individuals or the Stuarts Draft theft is encouraged to call Virginia State Police at 434-352-7128 or #77 on a cell phone or [email protected].
