Virginia State Police investigating fatal hit-and-run in Fluvanna County

virginia state policeVirginia State Police Trooper R.A. Johnson is seeking the public’s help with locating a suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Fluvanna County Friday morning.

At approximately 6:15 a.m. Friday (Aug. 24), Virginia State Police responded to a call for a pedestrian who had been struck on Route 250, less than a mile east of Route 676/Diamond Road, in the community of Troy. Daniel T. Lee, 61, of Troy, Va., was walking to work when he was struck from behind by a vehicle on Route 250. Lee died at the scene.

The striking vehicle fled the scene. A witness described the suspect vehicle as an older model sedan of medium-to-dark gray in color. The car has significant damage to its front windshield and front end, and is missing its front, left headlight.
