Virginia holds at fourth in national rankings

virginia basketballAn unusually quiet week at the top of the national rankings has Virginia holding at fourth in the final regular-season polls of 2016.

UVA (24-6, 13-5 ACC) won both of its games last week, defeating Clemson 64-57 on Tuesday and then-#11 Louisville 68-46 on Saturday.

The wins clinched the second seed in this week’s ACC Tournament for the Cavs.

ACC regular-season champ North Carolina (25-6, 14-4 ACC) is ranked seventh. Miami (24-6, 13-5 ACC), the third seed in the ACC Tournament, is ranked 11th.

Kansas (27-4) is #1 in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls this week.

Michigan State (26-5) is second in the AP poll, and Villanova (27-4) is second in the USA Today poll.
