Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co. has recognized its top agents with awards for their performance in 2015.
“All of these agents excel at meeting the needs of their insurance customers. They are the top agents in terms of sales and service to their members,” said Ray Leonard, VFBMIC vice president of sales. “We are so fortunate to have these professionals working on our behalf to ensure our customers have the best coverage and service possible.”
Amanda Compton of Bedford County was recognized as the 2015 State Agent of the Year. Zac Lineberry of Carroll County was named first runner-up; Mike Mullins of Washington County was second runner-up; Bart Mitchell of Henrico County was third runner-up; and Chris Adams of Hanover County was fourth runner-up. Compton also was named the 2015 Region 1 Agent of the Year, and Mitchell was named the 2015 Region 2 Agent of the Year.
Six agents were recognized as their districts’ 2015 Most Valuable Agent of the Year:
- Mike Mullins, District One, Washington County Farm Bureau;
- David Ashwell, District Two, Halifax County Farm Bureau;
- Tony Martin, District Three, Buckingham County Farm Bureau;
- Bryant Reese, District Four, Mecklenburg County Farm Bureau;
- Jerry Funkhouser, District Five, Farm Bureau of Shenandoah County ; and
- Rick Harvey, District Six, Nelson County Farm Bureau.
The 2015 Agency of the Year Awards went to the following agencies:
- The agency managed by Bruce Brown, composed of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Franklin and Roanoke counties. Sales staff in addition to Brown are Brad Brown, Lynn Claybrook, Amanda Compton, Matt English, Robin Gloss, Wesley Harris, Leon Ingram, Eric Johnson, Tom Hall, David Plunkett, Ed Sale, Stuart Smith, Steve Wright and Teresa Zimmerman.
- The agency managed by Leah Roller, composed of Hanover and King William counties. Sales staff in addition to Roller are Chris Adams, Randy Kelley, Debbie Murphy, Robbie Sanders and Jim Woolford.
The Brown and Roller agencies also were recognized as the Agency of the Year for their respective regions.
Farm Bureau also recognized one agency manager with its 2016 Master Agency Manager designation and 38 of its agents as 2016 Master Agents. The designations recognize excellent overall performance in selling insurance and helping customers.

Jon Dean, agency manager for Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Loudon, Prince William-Fairfax, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren county Farm Bureaus, received the Master Agency Manager designation.
