Village Artisans of Port Republic hold debut art show

newspaperThe Village Artisans of Port Republic is holding its Debut Art Show from April 28th through May 1st in the newly renovated Port Republic Town Hall.

Twelve Port Republic resident artisans and one local “special friend” will present their creative talents to the public. Some are well-known artists and some are introductory artisans. This event will showcase the artisan’s diverse talents and include everything from fine art and artisan crafts to live music from local musicians. Each day will offer something extra and Thursday has been designated “seniors day”.

While visiting an art show, guests can tour the Port Republic Museum, research local history, or stroll through the eclectic and historical village. Port, as it is referred to by locals, is listed in the US National Registry of Historical Places and has a rich and colorful history.

Sally Smith and Tamara Gibson formed the Village Artisans to promote local talent and give them a venue for their art; allowing them to grow and share their creativity. Their vision is to watch Port Republic become an artistically rich haven in a historically beautiful atmosphere.

We guarantee all the senses will be stimulated and a good time will be had by all.
