road-work-headerRepairs to the bridge on Route 867 (North River Road) near Mount Crawford in Rockingham County are expected to be complete on Wednesday. A portion of Route 867 has been closed since June 18, when the bridge over Pleasant Run and its southern approach were damaged in a tractor trailer crash.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will replace a cross-beam in the bridge, install new guardrail and complete repaving before the road can open to traffic. All work is weather permitting.

Until Route 867 reopens, a detour will direct drivers to follow Route 11 north and Route 257 east back onto Route 867.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
