VDOT: Minor to moderate road conditions in Valley

Snow continues to fall in parts of the Shenandoah Valley leaving some roads in minor to moderate condition of the Shenandoah Valley. Motorists should use extreme caution if driving is necessary.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are will continue to plowing and treating roads as long as conditions exist.

Here are road conditions as of 11:30 a.m. on Monday:

I-64 – Moderate conditions in Rockbridge and Augusta counties. Clear conditions in Alleghany County.

I-66 – Clear conditions in Warren County.

I-81 – Moderate conditions in Augusta County. Minor conditions in Rockbridge County. Clear conditions in Rockingham, Shenandoah and Frederick counties.

Primary roads are in moderate condition in Highland, Rockbridge and Augusta counties. Minor conditions are in Bath, Alleghany, Rockingham and Shenandoah counties. Clear conditions are in Frederick, Warren, Clarke and Page counties.

Secondary roads are in moderate condition in Bath, Alleghany, Highland, Rockbridge, Augusta and Shenandoah counties. Minor conditions are in Rockingham County. Clear conditions are in Frederick, Warren, Clarke and Page counties.

Right above the map is a link reading: “Click here for a list of road conditions, including secondary roads”. Click on this link, then in the drop-down box click on the desired county or Virginia statewide. A text box of road conditions will appear.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
