UVA closer Josh Sborz goes to L.A. Dodgers in 2015 MLB Draft

Sborz_Josh_13MUVA junior right-hander Josh Sborz was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 74th pick in the 2015 MLB Draft.

Sborz was Virginia’s Saturday starter in 2014, compiling a 6-4 record with a 2.92 ERA in 17 appearances, 15 of them starts, before moving to the bullpen in 2015 to serve as the Cavs’ closer.

In 2015, Sborz made 29 appearances, with three starts, going 4-2 with a 1.95 ERA and racking up 14 saves.

In 76 appearances in three seasons, Sborz has a 13-6 record, 2.36 ERA and 16 saves in 187 innings, with 171 strikeouts, 77 walks and a .195 opponent batting average.
