UVA basketball falls in national polls

uva basketballThe narrow two-point loss at Louisville on Saturday dropped UVA from second to third in the Associated Press Top 25, and from second to fourth in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Virginia (28-2, 16-2 ACC), the ACC regular-season champion for a second consecutive season, trails ACC runner-up Duke (28-3, 15-3 ACC) in the national polls. Kentucky (31-0) was once again a unanimous first in both polls, with Duke second in both. Villanova (29-2), the Big East champ, is third in the USA Today poll, and fourth in the coaches poll.

Arizona and Wisconsin alternate as fifth and sixth in the two polls.

Notre Dame (26-5, 14-4 ACC) is ninth in the coaches poll, and #11 in the AP. Louisville (24-7, 12-6 ACC) is 13th in the coaches poll and #14 in the AP.

North Carolina (21-10, 11-7 ACC) is 19th in both polls.
