600px-I-64Utility work scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 11 will create traffic delays on Interstate 64 near mile marker 104 in western Albemarle County.

Lumos Networks, a fiber-optics company, will begin work at 7:45 a.m. Sunday to run an overhead utility line across I-64. As the work is performed, traffic will be stopped in both directions with a delay of up to 15 minutes.

Message boards will be put in place to inform motorists of the work. The traveling public is advised to consider an alternate route to avoid the stop.

The work is being done under permit issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The Virginia State Police will provide traffic control.
