U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden joined U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine for a tour and employee townhall at GridPoint Inc., an industry leader in providing businesses with energy solutions that increase efficiency and decrease overall energy costs.

“GridPoint’s innovative energy management systems are saving companies up to a fifth of their total energy costs per month,” said Kaine. “These are dollars that can be invested back into the business to expand and hire new workers.  Their advancements in energy efficiency and conservation technology are absolutely essential to ensuring our businesses can compete in an increasingly competitive global economy.”

“Whether it’s through conservation, innovation, or by harnessing the power of the sun, GridPoint allows corporations to invest their money in their product and their workforce rather than overhead costs,” said Sen. Wyden.  “We should be encouraging these practices at the federal level in both the private and public sector and I look forward to working with Tim Kaine to expand these innovative practices.”

Since 1996, Sen. Wyden has served Oregon in the United States Senate and has been recognized as a leading voice for bipartisanship in the Senate, crafting innovative solutions on taxes, technology, infrastructure investments and clean energy.

“As a U.S. senator, I look forward to partnering with Sen. Wyden and others to foster innovation, grow high-tech manufacturing jobs, and strengthen our economy,” Kaine said. “I was proud to work with both parties as governor to pass strategic initiatives for Virginia that improved education, balanced the budget, and promoted public health and safety. If elected, I will continue to work with members of any party who have ideas to move our country forward.”
