Teens wanted for national-park summer program

ycc_two_200.jpgTeens ages 15 to 18 can apply now for a position in the Shenandoah National Park Youth Conservation Corps program.

Applications for the program are being accepted through the middle of April for the program, which provides jobs and educational experiences to teens who work to maintain park trails, roads, buildings and campgrounds.

The YCC program runs eight weeks from June 16 to Aug. 8.

Enrollees work 40 hours a week at minimum wage.

Applications may be obtained from the following local high-school guidance offices: Page County, Luray, Spotswood, Rappahannock County, William Monroe (Greene County), and Madison County or from the Personnel Office at Shenandoah National Park.

Applications must be postmarked by April 18, 2008.
