Ted Swartz and Jeff Raught will present “Creation, Dysfunction & Destiny” at 9:30 a.m. and “Jesus Stories” at 7:30 p.m. Both performances are free and open to the public.

“Creation, Dysfunction & Destiny” brings to life the characters of the Old Testament in hilarious and unexpected ways. In “Jesus Stories,” Swartz and Raught offer a fresh look at the Gospels.

Swartz, a playwright and actor, has been in the business for more than 20 years.

Coupling theater and seminary education, he became a theologian of a different sort. He discovered that at the intersection of humor and biblical story are often new or different understandings of Scripture.

Swartz is the creator or co-creator of more than a dozen plays, which he performs across the United States and around the globe.

Raught, an actor, composer and musician, has worked with Swartz since 2006. When not on the road, he does solo work as a musician and retreat leader and works at Crane Specialists in Manheim, Pa.

Bridgewater College is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in the Central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Founded in 1880, it was the state’s first private, coeducational college. Today, Bridgewater College is home to approximately 1,800 undergraduate students.
